3 remain in hospital after fatal accident | Charlottesville Daily Progress.

A sad report of teenage driving and a young girl’s death after a crash last Thursday evening on Nahor Manor Road in Fluvanna County, VA.

Eighteen-year-old Matthew Rigsby was driving a 1997 Saab around 8:30 pm when the car went off the road and hit a fence and some trees.

Fourteen-year-old Caitlyn Conn was killed in the accident. Also injured were 15-year-old Morgan Winter and 17-year-old Dylan Saylor, who remain at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

Police think speeding was a factor in the wreck, and they also think only Rigsby was buckled up.

What a tragedy for Caitlyn and her friends and family. Friends describe Caitlyn as a “really good girl. Very polite. Very sweet.”

Fairfax, Va., Judge Rejects Immunity for Former Officer in Fatal Car Crash .

The Washington Post reports that an officer that hit and killed another driver last year was denied immunity by a judge yesterday after a bunch of new facts emerged during a hearing last Tuesday.

The accident happened on Route 1 in Fairfax County. Ashley McIntosh was driving her Toyota Corolla when she entered an intersection on a green light and was thrown from her car and killed after being hit by Officer Amanda Perry.

Perry was not using her lights or siren which is not allowed when responding to a call, especially when running a red light.

Hopefully McIntosh’s family will get some degree of justice in their wrongful death car accident case now that a judge has rejected the sovereign immunity defense.

The truck hit a third car and then crashed into a fence.

The driver of the suburban was thrown from his car and taken by helicopter to UVA Medical Center.

Dayton Police Chief Donnie Conley said he’d never seen anything like it in the small town.

“It’s probably the worst I’ve seen in Dayton,” Conley said.
